Britain’s Got Talent say they could see exactly how a magician wowed the judges with his sleight of hand card tricks, amid claims that he should have got the Golden Buzzer.Junwoo, 23, who travelled from his home in South Korea to audition for the ITV show, had the audience gasping as he produced an endless stream of cards, seemingly out of nowhere, to the soundtrack of Cake by the Ocean by DNCE.Alesha Dixon, David Walliams, Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden all rose to their feet in admiration at the end of his routine. Some viewers praised his “supernatural” performance and criticised Alesha for not awarding him the Golden Buzzer straight through to the live shows, claiming it was a fix when it went to a hip hop duo later in the show. But others weren’t as impressed with Junwoo’s act, saying they could easily see how he was making his “magic”.
One posted on Twitter: “Magician needs to use smaller cards so we don't clearly see them in his hand, and make it less glaringly obvious when he's taking more from his sleeves.”Others noted: “Magicians have done this for years, but with doves,” and: “They’re talking like they’ve never seen magicians do sleight of hands tricks."Junwoo, who only took up magic tricks after watching other contestants on BGT on YouTube, started his act by borrowing Alesha Dixon’s glasses and making them disappear. At the end he produced a box made from cards that contained her missing sunnies.
