Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker, who made history as the iconic sci-fi series’ first ever female Doctor has confirmed she will be departing the show after three-seasons.
Jodie, 39, who took over the Tardis in 2017, will be appearing in the show’s thirteenth season airing later this year, along with a a trio of episode specials next year, before finally departing the role for good.
In a statement announcing her departure, the screen star described her time manning the Tardis as being ‘the best job I ever had.’ The first special Jodie will star in is set to air on New Year’s Day 2022, with the second airing later in the spring and the third, when the Doctor will regenerate, will air in autumn 2022.
