Beavers are Britain's secret weapon against drought as summer heatwave continues

Beavers are the ultimate weapon in the battle against the nation’s drought, according to wildlife experts.Our parched countryside has been decimated by a lack of rain, with rivers and lakes drying up, and wildfires.But areas where dam-building beavers have been introduced have continued to thrive. It’s like a lost world. It feels almost like Jurassic Park – different from anywhere else on the estate.” Beavers find it difficult to move around on land, so they redesign the landscape to give themselves shallow ponds to dive in.
