SIR Ringo Starr has tested positive for Covid, forcing the cancellation of more shows on his North American tour. The 82-year-old former Beatles drummer fell ill at the weekend, postponing gigs in the US with his All-Starr band.
Yesterday it was confirmed that the Liverpool-born musician had caught the virus, scuppering five upcoming concerts in Canada.
A statement said: “Ringo hopes to resume as soon as possible and is recovering at home. “As always, he and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans, and hope to see them back out on the road soon.” Shows in New Buffalo, Michigan, as well as Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Lethbridge, were among those cancelled.
