The shortlist has been confirmed for this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year Nominees were announced throughout the day, with favourite for the award Lewis Hamilton the first to be announced and Tyson Fury rounding things off on Tuesday night.
The F1 world champion claimed his seventh title earlier this month - equalling the record held by Michael Schumacher. Hamilton also surpassed the German's record win tally - which stood for years at 91.
Victory at the Nurburgring in October equalled the number before a win in Portimao just a fortnight later set him aside in the sport's history books.
His latest win in Bahrain means he has now amassed 95 wins throughout his career while off the track he has been a leading light in the fight
