The first ever Premier League game shown live on the BBC will be held this weekend. In the league’s 28-year history, no matches have been shown on the broadcaster.
However, that all changes on Saturday, with the first free-to-air Premier League games being shown as all clubs play their final nine matches of the season.
A total of 33 matches will be on free-to-air TV, with the BBC having the rights to show four of them. Another 25 will be shown by Sky Sports on Pick, available on Freeview, while the final four will be shown for free by Amazon.
BBC Premier League games Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace has the honour of being the BBC’s first ever live Premier League fixture, and its first live top flight match since 1988.
