BBC Breakfast fans have moaned that the show’s coverage of teen tennis star Emma Raducanu is too OTT and that there is other news happening today - mainly the commemoration of the 9/11 terror attacks.
Presented by Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt, the sporting protege’s meteoric rise to tennis fame featured heavily on the morning programme - but some thought it was just too much.
Raducanu, who has reached the US Open Final in New York, is the first qualifier to reach a Grand Slam final in 44 years and will play another teenager, Canadian Leylah Fernandez, later on Saturday.
Both broadcasters gushed over Emma then interviewed sports presenter Mike Bushell about the match before chatting to a number of other guests via video about the tennis.
