BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt slams ‘irresponsible’ guest in hostile on-air moment

A BBC Breakfast host took a hard line while questioning rail boss Steve Montgomery over “irresponsible” strikes. The 60-year-old broadcaster was joined on the Beeb’s red sofa by regular co-host Naga Munchetty, 47, on Saturday morning.

The BBC presenters welcomed Steve Montgomery, the chair of the Rail Delivery Group, to the programme to discuss the ongoing train strikes.

Charlie took the lead in the interview, speaking to Steve one-on-one. However, it wasn’t long before the broadcaster let his feelings be known, calling out the lack of action in the lead up to the strike.  “If I was one of the people who was being affected by the travel problems today, and I heard what I think you just said, which is that ‘we haven’t been able to talk to the unions, and today the strike is on,’ that sounds really irresponsible.” READ MORE ON BBC BREAKFASTRISKY!
