BBC Breakfast made for uncomfortable viewing on Saturday morning after presenter Charlie Stayt asked MP Nadine Dorries if she had spoken to Boris Johnson in the last 24 hours.
The Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport appeared on the show via video link but refused to answer Charlie's questions on communication with the Prime Minister which became akward to watch.Journalist Charlie asked the MP: "Have you spoken to the Prime Minister recently in the last 24 hours?"Looking uncomfortable, Nadine replied: "Why, why are you asking me that question?"Charlie replied sternly: "I'd like to know."Nadine responded: "We've communicated."But Charlie pressed for a more precise answer and said: "I'm really confused is that a difficult question, I'm just asking if you've spoken to the Prime Minister in the last 24 hours?"However Nadine refused to expand on her previous comment and again told the broadcaster that she has "communicated" with the PM.Not letting the matter go, Charlie questioned: "What has he communicated with you?"Again, Nadine refused to back down to the presenter's probing and told him she won't go into what they previously conversed on.Seeing the awkward exchange unfold, BBC Breakfast viewers couldn't wait to express their thoughts regarding the pair's conversation on Twitter. One viewer penned: "This is EXCRUCIATING.
Defensive, rambling, flaky. It's almost too easy."Another said: "I'm not sure this way of asking questions is going to get the best answers out of a minister who doesn't want to answer."A third wrote: "Ooh, this interview with Dorries is getting awkward.
