They then linked to reporter Nina Warhurst, who was visiting a chicken farm in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. Nina explained how the cost of breeding and looking after chickens for their meat or eggs were rising due to the cost of living crisis, and how this was having a knock on effect to restaurants.
She explained how Nandos and KFC had already increased their prices because of the situation, and how that could then mean families choose to stay home rather then spend even more on a meal out.
While the subject matter was serious, there was a moment of humour when Nina was given a chicken to hold towards the end of her broadcast.
