BBC Breakfast viewers, after the reporter appeared as Ben Thompson’s replacement in the business expert seat.The journalist has appeared on the morning show and other BBC news programmes plenty of times since starting his career at the broadcasting giant more than seven years ago.Recently he confirmed his huge job news live on the programme alongside Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt, cheekily posting a video on social media which he captioned: "One final clue at 0559… just before the big moment @BBCBreakfast."In the video, he could be heard saying: "Well, here's one last clue - I'm on the famous red sofa.

From his name change to his theft horror, Daily Star takes a look…Ben’s fans will know that Boulos hasn’t always been his surname - as he used to go by Ben Bland until February 2021.The BBC star wanted to reflect his Jewish heritage with the name change, after his ancestors changed their surname from Boulos to the most overtly English one they could think of after fleeing Russia and Lithuania for Britain - Bland.Ben wanted to honour his great-grandparents by changing his name back to Boulos, explaining he received an "overwhelming and overwhelmingly positive" reaction from fans and those with similarly mixed heritage.He made the decision during lockdown, but explained in an interview: "Thinking about your name and your identity is the kind of thing you put off because life is too busy, it's never a good time, everyone else is busy.
