Barcelona’s financial situation is causing them several issues, and they may have been priced out of their top target as Bayern Munich have slapped a significant price tag on Robert Lewandowski.The Poland international has been heavily linked with a move to the Camp Nou, with the player himself publicly expressing his desire to join the club.
However, Bayern are unwilling to sell.Not even the arrival of Sadio Mane from Liverpool earlier this month has seen the Bundesliga outfit budge, having rejected a bid for Lewandowski previously.
And Barca have an even tougher task on their hands in landing the 33-year-old as Sky Sports report that Bayern are demanding £52million for the striker.Lewandowski’s contract with the German giants expires next summer, therefore meaning that Barca may be reluctant to spend big on the striker given that he will be available as a free agent in 12 months.
But, the striker’s 50 goals in 46 appearances last season certainly suggest he would make an impact in La Liga. Barca are having to tread carefully this summer due to their debts, though they could be set to have their transfer budget bolstered by Manchester United.
