Bastian Schweinsteiger has revealed that Eric Cantona played a role in his decision to sign for Manchester United in 2015. After Schweinsteiger reportedly fell out with Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich, Louis van Gaal swooped to bring Schweinsteiger to Manchester six years ago, but the German midfielder went on to spend just two years at the club, making only 35 appearances.
Despite Schweinsteiger being established as one of Europe's finest players, he only wanted to sign for United after his Bayern exit.
The World Cup winner has now explained that Cantona and United's 'beautiful stadium' played a role in him making the decision to move to Manchester.
