Kyle Lowthian told officers he had bought the scooter for a child’s birthday when he was stopped in Radcliffe, Bury, last year.

He gave police false details when pulled over on November 18 last year. He was also found with a small bag of cannabis. Officers eventually learned the 34-year-old had been disqualified from driving following a high-speed police pursuit through Bolton on August 9.

Police spotted Lowthian, of Mather Street, Radcliffe, speeding through Farnworth at around 3am. Officers signalled for the BMW to stop, but he sped away at 70mph.
