The Balearic and Canary Islands will remain on the UK's "red list" despite claims from Spain's tourism minister yesterday that quarantine was set to be axed.
Government minister Reyes Maroto said that that the measures could be dropped after the UK government received new epidemiological data from Spanish officials.
But a UK government source said that there are no current plans to change quarantine for travellers from Spain and no change would happen that swiftly.
