Naman Ramachandran The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) film awards will take place in London on March 13, 2022 and will be broadcast in the U.K.
on BBC One. The awards are the U.K.’s highest film honors and traditionally act as a bellwether to the Oscars, which take place shortly after.
This year’s awards saw Chloé Zhao win best director and Frances McDormand leading actress for “Nomadland,” and Anthony Hopkins win leading actor for “The Father.” “Promising Young Woman” was named outstanding British Film and Bukky Bakray was awarded the EE Rising Star Award following her role in “Rocks.” Other award winners included Daniel Kaluuya, Yuh-Jung Youn, Emerald Fennell and Remi Weekes.
