The British Academy has revealed its 2021 crop of nominees for the Rising Star Award for up-and-coming talent, the only honor at the BAFTA film awards to be voted for by the public.
Announced a week before the full list of BAFTA nominees are unveiled, with an all-British lineup for the first time in the award's 16-year history, the rising star shortlist includes Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami, Love Life), Bukky Bakray (Rocks), Morfydd Clark (Saint Maud, The Personal History of David Copperfield), Sope Dirisu (His House, Gangs of London) and Conrad Khan (County Lines).
Despite all enjoying breakout years, the nominees are already beginning to become accustomed to awards recognition. Ben-Adir was named breakthrough actor at the 2020.
