Auditors admit council accounts will not be signed off before statutory deadline

An unaudited version of the local authority's statement of accounts for the last financial year ending March 31, 2021 is due to be published by July 31.

External auditors would usually be expected to sign off the accounts by this time of year, but due to Covid, the deadline has been extended to September.
