Aston Villa defender Matty Cash is reportedly a serious target for Atletico Madrid as they look to replace Kieran Trippier. Trippier left the Spanish capital to join Newcastle earlier this month, which has left Diego Simeone with a problem at right-back.Atletico banked £12million plus add-ons for Trippier and are now keen to reinvest some of that money on his successor.
According to The Sun, Villa star Cash is among their top targets and they are willing to spend between £30-£40million to get him.
However, it seems the Spanish champions are willing to wait until the summer transfer window before making a move.Cash is a man in demand at the moment and several other clubs are also said to be interested in his services.But the Poland international is reportedly keen on a switch to Atletico.
