Aston Villa full-back Matty Cash was booked for displaying a message to one of his teammates caught up in the crisis in Ukraine.
The Poland international removed his shirt after scoring against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, revealing a message to Tomasz Kedziora and his family.Kedziora is one of a number of players currently stuck in Ukraine following the Russian invasion on Friday, which has caused the suspension of the Ukrainian Premier League.The 27-year-old has played for Dynamo Kyiv since 2017 and received a message of support from his Poland team-mate Cash during Villa's latest match.Cash removed his shirt to display the message: “Tomasz Kedziora + family, stay strong my bro.”However, as per Premier League rules, he was controversially booked by referee John Brookes for removing his shirt to display the message.Ukraine striker Roman Yaremchuk was booked on Wednesday night for displaying a Ukraine emblem after scoring for Benfica in the Champions League.The Polish national team had been due to face Russia in a World Cup play-off in March, with the final of their four-team pool also set to take place in Russia.Should players be booked for removing their shirts after scoring?
