Arsene Wenger has labelled the European Super League a "bad idea" and says he has no idea what is going on at Arsenal. The legendary Gunners boss predicted a breakaway European league involving only the tops clubs on the continent around 12 years ago and condemned the idea then.

Now that the plan has come to fruition he is equally against the proposal, pointing out, like Sir Alex Ferguson, that the plan is disrespectful to the history of European football. "I would say that it's a bad idea," Wenger told talkSPORT. "Football has to stay united.
