The early-season optimism at Arsenal has disappeared. After starting their league campaign with two wins, Mikel Arteta’s side have struggled for form, with Sunday night’s home defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers leaving the Gunners languishing down in 14th in the table with just 13 points from 10 games.
And performances over the last few weeks have highlighted the need for January reinforcements at the Emirates Stadium with only 10 goals so far this term.
With an intense fixture schedule set to be further complicated by the FA Cup in January, Arsenal may need one or two additions if they are to compete in all four competitions in which they are still involved and secure European football for next season.
