dailystar.co.ukArsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Manchester United target and Borussia Dortmund centre-back Manuel Akanji.Akanji, 26, looks likely to leave Dortmund this summer following the arrival of fellow defenders Niklas Sule and Nico Schlotterbeck.
The Bundesliga club are looking to cash in while they can with his contract expiring next year, so Akanji's representatives are seeking a move away for him.
And according to The Sun, they are eyeing up the Emirates as a possible destination, as their client is a Swiss international team-mate of Granit Xhaka who impressed against England in a March friendly.
However, the report states the Gunners are unlikely to take them up on the offer with Mikel Arteta after a left-footed centre-half.The north London club are short on cover for Gabriel Magalhaes, but already have Ben White and Rob Holding on the right side of central defence, with William Saliba likely to be in the mix too.While Akanji may not move to Arsenal, he could still end up in the Premier League.
