The Army is said to be considering disciplining troops who refuse to receive the Covid vaccine. Vaccine hesitancy has been blamed on the surge in infections of the Indian variant of coronavirus in parts of the UK.
But there is no law that states a person can be forced to take the vaccine without their consent. In its advice to employers on asking staff to get vaccinated the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service says 'it's best to support staff to get the vaccine without forcing them to.' But the Army will reportedly "educate" officers who refuse to have the Covid-19 jab and troops who continue to reject the vaccine will be "dealt with accordingly".
