Antiques Roadshow guest was stunned after learning a heartwarming story behind the diamond sapphire ring that was given by a Jewish family.The pensioner showed expert Susan Rumfitt a spectacular heart-shaped ring that set in turquoise and sapphire along with a pavé of diamonds leading to a star on top.Appeared on last week's BBC One programme, the guest told how she came in possession of the jewellery.She says: "As a child I was told the ring had belonged to the Belgian royal family.
When the German army advanced in spring of 1940, invading Belgium and the Netherlands, the family gave it to a Jewish family, who were also fleeing from the Germans."They brought it, obviously, across to this country.
