Angela Bassett Wore ‘the Color of Royalty’ to the 2023 Oscars

Bassett, who was last nominated for an Oscar in 1994 for playing Tina Turner in What's Love Got to Do With It, was nominated this year in the best supporting actress category for her portrayal of Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
She was up against Kerry Condon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu, and Hong Chau.As befitted her Oscar-nominated role, Bassett looked like a true queen on the red carpet.
She did the thing in a brilliant lavender Moschino gown (which is, as her stylist Jennifer Austin put it on , “the color of ROYALTY”) which featured voluminous off-the-shoulder sleeves and a mermaid skirt ending in a plume of ruffles.
