Andy Robertson admits fans are at risk of falling out of love with football due to games being "constantly in review on a screen".
VAR played a major role in Liverpool's last game, intervening to award Brighton an added-time penalty after Robertson was deemed to have fouled Danny Welbeck.
The Seagulls equalised from the spot kick as the points were shared at the Amex, while the Reds also saw two goals ruled out for offside infringements.
Robertson - who showed his frustration over the penalty decision after the match - is concerned VAR is sapping the passion out of the sport. "It's affecting the players, but more the whole game," said the left-back ahead of Liverpool's clash with Ajax. "Even when fans are back in - they celebrate goals.
