Andros Townsend has cleared up any confusion around the meaning behind his celebration at Old Trafford on Saturday. The Everton winger earned his side a 1-1 draw with Manchester United when he struck five minutes after the hour mark, cancelling out Anthony Martial's first-half opener.
Townsend then copied Ronaldo 's iconic celebration, which was interpreted by some on social media as a dig at the United legend.
Ronaldo is back in English football after 12 years away, returning to Old Trafford in August when he left Juventus. The Portugal superstar, benched for the Everton game, has been in sparkling form for United but was unable to get his side going when he came on 12 minutes after half-time.
