Juventus president Andrea Agnelli insists the Super League project was not designed to cut out teams from smaller leagues, as he made a pointed comment about his own club compared to teams like Celtic and Rangers.
The Italian is a former head of the European Club Association, and was involved in promoting the changes to the competition which will take effect from 2024.Agnelli resigned though when 12 of Europe's biggest clubs announced their plans to break away and form a new competition for which they would automatically qualify every year.
