Alvin Ing was an actor known for his performance on Broadway as Wang Ta in “Flower Drum Song.”Ing was best known for his work on Broadway, including “Pacific Overtures” as well as “Flower Drum Song.” The “Pacific Overtures” song “Chrysanthemum Tea” was written expressly for Ing.
He also appeared widely in movies and on television. Ing had recurring roles on the soap operas “Falcon Crest” and “The Doctors,” and he also appeared on TV shows including “Charlie’s Angels,” “Dynasty,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” and “Hawaii Five-0.” He played Lee in the 2014 Mark Wahlberg film “The Gambler,” making additional movie appearances in “Stir Crazy,” “Troop Beverly Hills,” “Smilla’s Sense of Snow,” and others.
