Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.
The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.
People from across the globe have travelled to London to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this weekend. And, no Jubilee bash is complete without a huge concert outside Buckingham Palace.The long weekend has finally hit, well, the celebrations in honour of the Queen are about to step up a notch as we prepare for the highly-anticipated Party at the Palace.There's already been plenty of bank holiday excitement, from Trooping the Colour to a Service of Thanksgiving to the Queen that saw Prime Minister Boris Johnson booed by the crowd and two members of the procession collapse.
But, the festivities continue and will culminate this Sunday 5 June with the Platinum Pageant. Thousands of Brits have raided their wardrobes and take to the streets of London to celebrate music and fashion from their favourite era, in a segment called The Time of Our Lives.
Ed Sheeran is expected to perform in an incredible musical conclusion on Sunday and there is a planned moment for the Queen to return to the famous balcony at Buckingham Palace once again.
But, Saturday night will see more musical artists from across the globe put on their best performances to celebrate our monarch.
