The Brazilian left-back has been confirmed as the club's second summer signing, arriving from Porto on a four-year deal.The 27-year-old also has the option of a further year in his contract and is the first of at least two deals expected to be completed on transfer deadline day, with Edinson Cavani also expected to be confirmed as a United player before Monday's 11pm deadline.
With Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams already vying for the left-back spot, Solskjaer has opted to add further depth in that position with United shipping 11 goals in their first three Premier League matches of the season.
