Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reportedly said "I haven't played for weeks" after he was substituted during Jurgen Klopp's side's victory over Nottingham Forest.
The former Arsenal central midfielder was deployed on the right side of a three-man midfield during the Reds’ 1-0 away victory over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-final.
Considering the relentless pressing styles of Klopp’s and Steve Cooper’s side, it seemed to be the ideal encounter for the former England international.Chamberlain had not featured for Liverpool outside of the FA Cup since early February, such is the competition for places in Klopp’s squad.
However, the England international's reaction to being substituted has seen him come under intense fire from his own supporters.A tweet from a Liverpool supporter’s platform Anfield Edition claims Chamberlain said “I haven’t played for weeks” while he was coming off the pitch.
