Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.Supermarket giant Aldi has revealed that it’s aiming to open 19 new stores across Scotland - including in Dumbarton and Helensburgh.The budget chain, which currently has 92 stores in Scotland and 880 across the UK, is hoping to have 1200 shops open across the country by 2025 - with Dumbarton and Helensburgh targeted as potential locations, on a list that also includes Finnieston, Clarkston and Dunblane.Aldi are on the lookout for freehold sites either in town centres or on the edge of towns for their development, with each site ideally being around 1.5 acres and on a main road with space for a 20,000sq ft store and 100 parking spaces.Ciaran Aldridge, national.
