Airport-style security gates installed in Forest Bank prison to stop drug smuggling

X-ray baggage and body scanners, alongside metal detection, will be used to search staff and visitors at Forest Bank jail in Agecroft.

Additional gate staff, including trained dog handlers, will further beef up overall security. The move comes a month after mobile phones, steroids, sim cards and electric contraband were found during a police operation targeting the cells of senior gang members at the prison.
