Airlines delaying £7billion of refunds legally owed to Brit holidaymakers

The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic is confirmed to have infected over three million people and at least 200,000 people have lost their lives.

Many more will lose their livelihoods. British Airways laid off around a quarter of their workforce yesterday, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is advising British citizens to avoid travel to any overseas destinations “indefinitely" except in exceptional circumstances.

That means that holiday plans that people made, and saved for, last year are now thrown into limbo. Thousands of people are owed refunds for cancelled holidays – with the total for Britain alone estimated at over £7 billion.
