The collection's first single, Easy On Me, is out on October 15. Posting on her social channels about the story behind the record, Adele said the record reflects "the most turbulent period of my life", comparing it to a friend who cheered her up and offered advice. "I've learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way," she said. "I've shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones," concluding: "I've painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this album narrates it.
