reported a reduction of 10,800 attendances in its emergency units in March as a result of Covid-19. New data from the Officer for National Statistics (ONS) suggests that even people with life-threatening conditions have been shying away from hospitals.
The ONS figures show that even after the first peak of Covid, deaths at home were higher than the five-year average, with about a third more deaths registered.
