Billy Connolly and Sean Connery through its gates has cancelled the attraction for a second year due to coronavirus. The Lonach Gathering in Aberdeenshire is a firm fixture in the games diary and is a big hit among celebs. 'Big Yin' Billy Connolly had a house nearby the Aberdeenshire and often invited visitors along to the celebration- famous for the march of the Lonach Highlanders.
The games in the village of Strathdon traditionally take place on the fourth Saturday of August and feature favourites like caber tossing and Highland dancing competitions.
But in a statement from organisers it was confirmed, that even this far out, the event would be cancelled for a second year.
