Braveheart led to both Scots (and many non-Scots) gleefully shouting "Freeeddooomm!" at the top of their lungs on any given occasion and saw its star Mel Gibson hit the heights once again back in his heyday all while winning no less than five oscars.
The blockbuster film turns 26 this week, after debuting way back in 1995, and though it may take more than a few liberties with the actual events, it still retains much of its original charm.
