13-year-old boy driving his dad's truck causes horror crash killing nine from golf team

Ricky Siemens, 13, and his father Heinrich Siemens, 38, both perished in the horror crash, which tragically killed a total of nine people in West Texas shortly after 8pm on Tuesday ( March 15).A coach and six students, who were a part of the University of the Southwest golf team in New Mexico, were identified following the incident which took place on Highway 115 in Midland.Head coach Tyler James and team member Laci Stone were both killed, as well as students Mauricio Sanchez, Travis Garcia, Jackson Zinn, Karisa Raines and Tiago Sousa, according to local reports.

Survivors Dayton Price and Hayden Underhill were listed to be in life-threatening conditions, reports The Sun.According to Texas laws, an individual must be 14 to begin classroom courses for a learner's license and 15 to be given a provisional license to drive with either an instructor or licensed adult in a car.National Transportation Safety Board Vice Chairman Bruce Landsberg said the truck's front tire on the left, which was a spare, had blown out before impact was made.He added it "was clearly a high-speed collision" despite the actual speeds being unknown at this time.The Christian college confirmed victims included members of the university’s men’s and women’s golf teams, who were on their way back from a tournament.University president Quint Thurman said: "We are still learning the details about the accident but we are devastated and deeply saddened to learn about the loss of our student's lives and their coach."Ricky Siemens mother, Agatha Siemens, posted a photo of him alongside a tribute on Facebook. “I miss you so much,” she captioned the photo.
